PLEASE note that while the Franschhoek Pass is currently closed to regular traffic due to ongoing roadworks, the reserve remains open. Hikers with valid permits to the reserve are allowed up (from the Franschhoek side), just show them to officials at the bottom of the pass.
Permits can be obtained through Webtickets and we also temporarily have a member of staff posted at the bottom of the pass from whom permits can be obtained. Due to roadworks, the Cats Path trail, which runs parallel to the pass, is currently closed. All our other trails are open.
